From those early experiments at the Brisbane Home Show, where we first tested Lüp 1.0 and learned how to capture visitor data in real time, our journey has been defined by curiosity, problem-solving, and a relentless focus on improving the event experience.
The lessons from those first events — understanding the challenges organisers faced, the expectations of attendees, and the power of technology when applied thoughtfully — laid the foundation for everything that followed.
In this next chapter, we reflect on the pivotal decisions, innovations, and industry changes that have shaped Lüp over the past decade, and look ahead to the trends and principles guiding how we design events for the future.
What are some pivotal moments for Lüp?
Over the years, certain decisions and milestones have defined our trajectory and cemented our role as an innovator in the events industry.
- Geographical expansion: Between 2022 and 2024, we expanded our presence to Southeast Asia, Europe and the United States, broadening our ability to support global clients and showcase our event solutions internationally.
- Technological breakthrough: April 2024 marked a significant innovation at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, where we introduced facial recognition technology for attendee management, which has become a benchmark for the industry. This technology was then deployed at events that require high security like IMARC, Land Forces and the Avalon Airshow to deliver fast, accurate verification without compromising attendee rights or experience.
These milestones illustrate a consistent principle at Lüp: when we identify opportunities to raise the bar, we pursue them fully, balancing ambition with practical execution.

How has the industry evolved since we first started?
When we started in 2011, the events landscape was vastly different. Registration was manual, attendee data was fragmented, and engagement beyond the event floor was extremely limited (if at all). Organisers often struggled to measure ROI, and attendees had few tools to personalise their experience.
Today, expectations have evolved dramatically. Clients demand seamless and end-to-end event solutions that integrate technology, marketing, and operations. Attendees expect personalised experiences, real-time interactions and frictionless access. The demand for physical events (especially after COVID-19), digital platforms and data-driven insights has transformed what “successful” means for every event.
Reflecting on these shifts, one lesson is clear: the events industry rewards those who adapt thoughtfully. Anticipating change, listening to clients and experimenting with new technologies are essential to remaining relevant, which are lessons that have guided Lüp for over a decade.

What do we think the future of events will look like?
Looking ahead, the events that will stand out in the next decade won’t be defined by technology alone, but by how well they create meaningful, seamless experiences for every attendee.
Technology will continue to play an important role, enabling personalisation, real-time insights, and smoother operations, but it should never replace human connection. The events that succeed will combine thoughtful planning, flexible execution, and a clear focus on value.
At Lüp, we think about this future through a few guiding principles:
- Continuous learning: Every event offers lessons that refine the next, raising the standard for experiences over time.
- Attendee-centred design: Every interaction, touchpoint, and detail should contribute to a seamless, engaging, and memorable experience.
- Flexibility and adaptability: The best events anticipate challenges and can adjust in real time, ensuring organisers and attendees feel supported no matter what arises.
- Purposeful technology: Tools and data are adopted only when they simplify processes, enhance engagement, or provide meaningful insights.
- Ethical data use: Respecting privacy, transparency, and fairness ensures technology strengthens the experience rather than undermines it.
By combining these principles with the lessons we’ve learned from international expansion, industry-leading innovations, and decades of experience, we aim to design events that are not just successful on paper but truly impactful for everyone involved. This is how we envision the future of events: thoughtful, adaptable, and human at the core.
As we reflect on the past 14 years, we’re grateful for the challenges, learnings, and breakthroughs that have defined our path. The evolution of events, the leaps in technology, and the changing expectations of attendees all remind us that growth is continuous.
Our commitment remains clear: to anticipate change, embrace innovation, and deliver experiences that matter. The next decade will bring new opportunities, and I am confident that Lüp will continue to lead, adapt, and inspire, with the same curiosity and purpose that guided us from the very beginning.
